Presenter:  Karen Hamilton, M.Ed., Coordinator of the North Carolina (NC) ADA Network, an initiative of the NC Council on Developmental Disabilities and Southeast ADA Center.

This webinar will provide you with an introduction to the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). It is designed to help increase your knowledge and understanding of the basic principles and core concepts in the ADA and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA). The objectives of this webinar include:

Develop a basic understanding of civil rights law

  • Understand the purpose of the ADA
  • List the five titles of the ADA
  • Identify the federal agencies with enforcement responsibilities
  • Define key terms under the ADA
  • Recognize the non-discrimination requirements
  • Share available resources and tools
