Parent to Parent of Georgia, a nonprofit organization, provides services to families across Georgia who are impacted by disabilities or special healthcare needs. Our vision is to be the source of choice for support, information, education, and leadership development for Georgians with disabilities or special health care needs, ages birth to 26, and their families. Our mission is to support Georgia families and individuals from birth to age 26 impacted by disabilities or special health care needs.

We are looking for an experienced strategic Director of Programs to join our leadership team and help advance our mission. This role plays a key part in ensuring program excellence, driving organizational growth, and supporting the successful delivery of services that improve the lives of Georgia families. The Director of Programs oversees P2P’s statewide and national programs, federal grants, state contracts, training initiatives, and strategic partnerships, and is expected to uphold high standards of quality, compliance, and impact. The ideal candidate is collaborative, forward-thinking, and able to lead cross-functional teams with strong program management and strategic partnership experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with strategic leadership for statewide and national programs and services.
  • Support implementation of federal grants and state contracts, including data collection, reporting, compliance, and performance measures.
  • Direct the organization’s training program, including curriculum development and the provision of in-person events, webinars, and Facebook Live events.
  • Supervise managers, provide coaching and professional development, and support organizational planning.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, universities, agencies, and community organizations.
  • Represent Parent to Parent of Georgia at local, state, and national meetings and conferences.

This hybrid position is based in our Atlanta office and is full-time (40 hours a week, 12 months a year). During initial orientation, this position may require 3 days per week in person in the Atlanta office (this could last up to two months).  Thereafter, the position requires 2 days per week of in-person work at the Atlanta office.  Reliable transportation is necessary. The salary for this position is $60,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s relevant experience, education, skills, and qualifications, as well as internal equity and market conditions. Benefits include 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage; paid time off; and a 401(k) match of up to 3%. This position may be eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through the U.S. Department of Education.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, ADA, and other applicable federal/state disability and special education regulations, as well as healthcare and human services systems.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in disability services, special education, or healthcare, including demonstrated experience in a management or supervisory role overseeing program staff.
  • Proven track record managing multi-year grants and contracts, including budget development, compliance monitoring, and reporting to funders.
  • Proficient in developing and delivering presentations and training, in-person and virtual, for diverse audiences (staff, board, funders, community).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, strategic planning, communication, public speaking, facilitation, and project management skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience managing federal grants and state contracts.
  • Candidates with relevant degrees in Special Education, Public Health, Business, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience developing training curriculum.
  • Experience in the disability or nonprofit field
  • Fluent in Spanish or other languages
