Are you a parent or family member of a child with a disability or special healthcare need?  Are you looking for part-time work in a casual working environment, where you can help families to access support and resources while expanding your own knowledge? If you live in the Clarkston area of DeKalb County, this might be a great job for you! 

The primary responsibilities of the Parent Partner include providing one-on-one assistance and guidance on educational and health-related issues to families of children with disabilities and/or special healthcare needs and to work closely with the staff at Inspiritus and other refugee and immigrant-serving agencies in the Atlanta area.

This is a part-time position, 20 hours a week, 12 months a year. This is a hybrid position, requiring two days per week in our Atlanta office or other clinic-based location.  Work schedule will require flexible but consistent daytime hours.  Pay $17 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience supporting families of children with special health care needs.  
• Parent or family member of a child with a disability or special health care need. 
• Good written and oral communication skills (preference given to candidates fluent in one or more languages in addition to English). 
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2-4 year degree. 
• Parent whose child has received services from Babies Can’t Wait (BCW) or Children’s Medical Services (CMS).
• Parent who lives in the Clarkston, Georgia area.
• Parent who is a member of an immigrant or refugee community.
